When 3D Printing is vital to your workflow, its important to make sure that you take the proper precautions to ensure that your 3D Printer remains in good working condition for years to come. With MakerCare Protection plans, MakerBot is going a step further to provide customers with a fast and comprehensive level of support and service.
WHICH PLAN IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
In addition to the 1-year limited warranty that comes standard with all MakerBot Sketch 3D printers – MakerBot offers two additional tiers of protection – MakerCare Gold and MakerCare Preferred. A breakdown of these plans can be found below.
MAKERCARE GOLD: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
2 YEARS OF ADDITIONAL COVERAGE:
- MakerCare Gold provides customers with the next level of support. Customers who select this plan will receive an additional 2 full years of coverage from the date you register your Sketch 3D Printer.

- MakerBot Support can be reached via phone, live chat, email, or through submission of a support request through their online support page.
MAKERCARE PREFERRED: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
3 YEARS OF ADDITIONAL COVERAGE:
- MakerCare Gold provides customers with the next level of support. Customers who select this plan will receive an additional 2 full years of coverage from the date you register your Sketch 3D Printer.
ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE PROTECTION:
- Printer downtime is never an ideal risk for any classroom. Reduce that risk with MakerCare's accidental damage protection option. If your printer goes down and the issue can't be resolved with troubleshooting or a needed part, we'll ship you a replacement sketch printer to get you back up and printing in the classroom.
EXPEDITED REPLACEMENT OF PARTS:
- For the duration of your MakerCare plan, MakerBot will replace defective parts AND parts that require replacement due to accidental damage and normal wear and tear.
- Expedited shipping means that a part is shipped to a customer via overnight shipping at the earliest availability (usually within one business day), so customers can expect to receive their parts within 2 days. Replacement parts exclude consumables.
- Customers who purchase the Preferred plan are eligible for a replacement 2 pack of nozzles and a replacement air filter during the life of their plan.
